Former Liverpool striker, Fernando Torres, has named the club’s forward Mohamed Salah as the best player in the world presently.
Torres stated this ahead of Liverpool’s English Premier League clash with West Ham on Saturday.
Salah has been in blistering form since the start of the season.
The Egyptian international has scored 15 goals and registered six assists in 14 matches for Liverpool so far.
“One hundred percent. I think not only this year, but the last two or three seasons have also been amazing,” Fernando Torres replied when asked by Liverpool’s official website if Salah is the world’s finest at present.
“You are always talking about individual trophies for players when they win trophies at the same time, but I think he has been one of the best two or three players in the world in the past five or six years. It’s amazing, the consistency.”
Torres and Salah were teammates for one year at Chelsea, where they both struggled to make an impact and find form at Stamford Bridge.
