Palliatives: APC Stalwart exonerates Buhari
… Blasts Governors for hoarding items
Few days after the looting that preceded the #EndSARS protest in most states, an All Progressives Congress (APC) Stalwart in Niger state, Comrade Jonathan Vatsa has exonerated President Muhammadu Buhari, blaming the state governors in the country over the discovery of COVID 19 palliatives stacked in various warehouses.
The one time Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism told Journalists on Wednesday that the Governors actions have led to the mass looting by angry youths across the country.
Vatsa while exonerating President Muhammadu Buhari from any blame over the nationwide looting of palliatives, said “most of the governors are Nigeria’s problems.
“President Buhari can not go to various States to share palliatives. It has been entrusted to the governors for onward distributions to the people, so I think Nigerians should excuse Mr President from this unfortunate development”.
Currently the Coordinator, Public Affairs to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state, Vatsa added that “the Governors are making governance very difficult for the President. In fact they are part of Buhari’s problems. If not, how can someone explain the hoarding of a common palliatives meant to cushion the effect of Coronavirus Lockdown”?
The former Publicity Secretary of APC in Niger state further disclosed that “Governors who hoard palliatives from their people can never provide dividends of democracy.
“Governance is all about the welfare of the people, so if you can not give the people what was handed to you to give to them, what else would they expect from you”?
Comrade Vatsa who expressed disappointment said, the governors know quite well that Nigerians are hungry and desperately needed the palliatives. But they want to make them very hungry so that they can buy them during election very cheap with those items.”
“With this Singular act, they have deliberately de-marketed and discredit this government, and Nigerians have lost confidence in this administration. It is very unfortunate”
Vatsa therefore cautioned security agents not to use force on Nigerians who according to him “are merely looting what was meant for them; what is happening is re-looting the looted”.
Vatsa also disclosed that “what these governors have done is nothing but a crime against humaninity, that is my opinion on this and its quite unfortunate”.
Subsequently, he appealed to the youths to stop attacking individuals and private companies, saying that “that does not portray the qualities of future leaders”.
