Following the lifting of the lock down earlier imposed by the federal government of Nigeria on major states in the country, actress Tonto Dike who has been in the forefront of giving out food and donating relief materials to the less privileged is considering the dangers involved in exposing her staffs to large crowd since the lock down has been lifted.
The actress took to her Instagram handle to announce that she is aware that some people were waiting at the gate of her office for relief materials as usual and for meeting with her. She said that it is risky to allow her staffs to continue working even after the government has lifted the lock down because it is not safe.
Many people have condemned the decision of the government to relax the lock down as hypocritical and a denial of the reality. The current corona virus cases in Nigeria stands at about 2500 and it is increasing every day.
However, the government has decided to lift the lock down and reopen the economy for business despite the risk that it poses. Majority of Nigerians ave not be screened or tested for covid19 and there is a high risk of community transmission.
