Following the brutal killing of George Floyd by a Mineapolis police officer. A Nigerian actress Toyin Abraham is calling for justice for the police killing of Tina a Nigerian girl killed by the Nigerian police. While trying to enforce lock down in Lagos members of the Nigerian police force were said to have killed a Tina Ezekwe.
Tina was just 17 years old before she lost her life in the hands of the Nigerian police on the 28th of May 2020. Her death sparked reactions and criticism of the police with many calling for justice for her killers.
Unlike i America where violent protest took over the streets and major cities after the killing of George Floyd, nothing much has happened in Nigeria apart from a few social media condemnation from celebrities such as Toyin Abraham who only a few hours later was sharing some of her private photos.
However, she deserved some commendations for devoting a post for Tina on her Instagram wall calling for justice to be done. Tina’s case is one among many cases of police extrajudicial killings.
