The remains of Tolulope Arotile, Nigeria’s first female flying officer were laid to rest at the military cemetery in Airport Rd, Abuja.
An ambulance of the Nigerian Airforce with registration no AF 442 brought the body to the cemetery.
Present at the ceremony to pay their final respects were the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and his wife, The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Abubakar Sadique, The House Committee Chairman on Air Force, Bala Ib’n Nala and the family members as well as friends of the deceased.

News of her demise was first reported on Tuesday last week, when the Nigeria Air Force announced that the country’s first female combat helicopter pilot died from a road traffic accident at the NAF base in Kaduna State.
It was reported that the female officer sustained head injuries from the accident after being hit by a reversing vehicle of an excited former Air Force secondary school classmate Nehemiah Adejoh, while trying to greet her.
The accident caused by Mr Adejoh whom had no valid driver’s license at the time, has been transferred by NAF to the Nigeria Police Force, noting that the matter is a civil case.
