A catholic priest, Rev Fr. Jude Onyebadi of Saints Peters And Paul, Issele Asagba, have been abducted around Bishop’s court in Issele uku, Aniocha North Local Council of Delta State.
The priest who was reportedly being monitored by the kidnappers, was taken in his farm at the weekend where he went for inspection as well as to pay workers.
Rev Fr. Charles Uganwa, communication’s director, catholic diocese of Issele uku confirmed the development and said the matter has been reported to the security agencies and that members of the church had embarked on prayers for his release.
He noted that the kidnappers had not made any contact or demanded for ransom yet and pleaded with them, who may not know his vocation to please release him unconditionally.
DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, the state’s police public relations officer pro, confirmed the abduction and said that police officers have since been dispatched to rescue the priest.
