Arsenal’s youngster, Bukayo Saka, was handed his first senior England call up by coach Gareth Southgate on Thursday.
Saka who was born in England to Nigerian parents had the option to pick either of the countries.
The player was named in a 30-man list for games against Wales, Belgium and Denmark..
Saka seemed to give an okay to the invitation to play for the three lions in a tweet, putting to rest the expectations of many Nigerians.
The 18 year old would still have the option of representing Nigeria if he fails to make a debut appearance in any of the three matches..
Meanwhile, Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, has been recalled to the England squad after being dropped following his Greek debacle.
His United compatriot Mason Greenwood and Manchester city’s Phil Foden were both left out of the squad after their indiscretion last time out.
England play Wales in a friendly at Wembley on October 8 before hosting Belgium and Denmark in Nations League matches on October 11 and 14.
