Umahi, Chairman of the South East Governors Forum, recently decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,
Kanu alleged that Umahi rather chose to work for APC presidency, “against his own brother, not minding that both of them are in the same PDP. ”
“No Igbo man will get the nod to fly the flag of either of the main political party come 2023.”
According to him, Umahi, Governor Nyesom Wike and others are merely storing up trouble for themselves and their children by allegedly conniving with the army and police in the killing of their people.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday commended the defection of Governor Umahi to the APC.
The Nigerian leader described it “as a bold move driven purely by principle rather than opportunistic motives”.
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has vowed that Governor Nyesom Wike will never be forgiven over the recent killing by security agents in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state.
Kanu stated this while sharing an obituary poster of someone he alleged to be “One of the victims of Wike’s #obigbogenocide.”
He described the governor as a dead man walking, threatening that the entire Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital will bear the brunt of what happened in Oyigbo.
“Instead of us to forget what happened at Obigbo, let heaven and earth come to pass,” Kanu wrote on Facebook.
The perpetrators of this crime against humanity and their supporters…will be hunted down one after the other, them and their families.
“Igweocha [Port Harcourt] as a whole will pay a very heavy price for what Wike and Fulani soldiers did at Obigbo.
Nnamdi Kanu: Wife begs Nigerian government for information
ABUJA-AN Igbo group under the aegis of Conference of Igbo Youth Professionals Worldwide, tasked foreign governments, especially the United Kingdom (UK) and Isreal, to deny the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, the freedom of using the privilege of his foreign citizenship to incite violence against the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This was as the Igbo group further reminded the foreign nations that Nnamdi Kanu remained a fugitive to the law, having jumped bail that was granted him by a court of competent jurisdiction trying him here on a criminal charge of treasonable felony and other related offences.
Specifically, the group alleged that the separatist leader was taking advantage of his sojourn in the aforesaid countries to cause anarchy and insurrection, through orchestrated incitement of members of the proscribed IPOB.
The Worldwide Youth organisation recalled that, in the eyes of the law, IPOB is a terrorist organisation, as it had been so declared by a Federal High Court in Abuja. Back home, the youth group reminded both the Federal and State Governments where members of the outlawed group reside, to act more decisively, given the extant law proscribing the IPOB. Consequently, it tasked the military and other relevant security agencies to do the needful, as the law was on their side on the subject matter. In a statement, Sunday, by its President-General,
Barr. Maduabuchi Nwodo, the Conference of Igbo Youth Professionals Worldwide, charged Ndigbo across the globe to demonstrate courage by denouncing Kanu, IPOB, members and all that the group stands for.
The group said its call was predicated on the latest utterance of the IPOB leaders, where he incited police and military officers of Southern and Middle Belt extractions of resigning and burning their service uniforms. “Kanu’s call was unilateral. He was not speaking for the Igbo Nation but himself. We are disturbed at the incessant inciting statements coming from Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, who has been parading himself as leader of Indigenous People of Biafra against the Nigerian state.
We are aware of his status as a citizen of both the United Kingdom and the Nation of Israel. Having worked and contributed effortlessly to see Nigeria at its present state, we believe that the United Kingdom and Israel would not want to see Nigeria a shattered place. It is in this regard that we are strongly appealing to them to rein in on Kanu, whose activities have been against the unity of Nigeria.
“The latest call by Mr. Kanu on the police and military officers of Southern and Middle Belt extractions not only to abandon their duty post but to also resign and burn their service uniforms must be ignored.
We wish to inform them that Kanu is alone in his cessation project and has nobody behind him,” the Youth group said. Describing Kanu as a fugitive who escaped the law after being granted bail following his arrest and detention over treasonable felony, the Conference of Igbo Youth Professionals insisted that Israel and the UK can turn in the IPOB leader given that he was on the nation’s wanted list.
Even as it admitted that the South East region had not had its fair share in the one Nigeria project, the Igbo group said the pursuit of inclusive government must be channeled through appropriate lawful means. “Through our people are highly marginalized and deserve the right for agitation, but that must be done legally and by the appropriate people not a deviant young man like Nnamdi Kanu who is out for his selfish interest,”
it said. It informed the foreign nations that Kanu was barred by a Federal High Court in Abuja from participating in, or addressing public rallies or protests, as part of the conditions for his bail, a development it regretted, had been ignored.
“Kanu has disobeyed this valid court order, which has not been set aside, either by the trial court or by the Court of Appeal. “Kanu has always lamented the treatment of people from the southeast zone by the Nigerian government and by other Nigerians. This formed the reason for his agitation for a country of his own.
“However, while Kanu has a right to legally clamour for whatever he believes in, he should also know that the Igbo Nation has recognized spokespersons in the forms of the governors, legislators, and Ohaneze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural group. Any serious statements are supposed to come from these people after extensive consultations”, the statement noted. Meanwhile, the group has thrown its support behind the lawful efforts by security agencies to check the excesses of IPOB members across the South East, and some contiguous states. It, however, called for more decisive steps to be taken against the Biafra agitators, saying more legitimate approaches will be adopted by the Igbo nation to achieve their demands.
“The Igbo nation constitutes responsible, law-abiding and patriotic citizens, who are prepared to achieve their goals within the confines of a united and indivisible Nigeria. “This, we shall achieve through non-violence means, as persuasion and conviction are the tools we shall deploy”.
“We, therefore, call on our brothers from the other parts of the country, to recognise our cry for marginalisation, and support our course to produce the next President come 2023. “Also, we call on the federal government to reflect the federal character principle in all appointments, to allow Ndigbo to serve their fatherland”.
IPOB: Why I Am Fighting For Biafra – Nnamdi Kanu
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, on Friday stated why he is agitating for the actualization of Biafra.
The IPOB leader noted that the convergence of the core value of the North, East and West hinders Nigeria from functioning as a nation.
Kanu while speaking with the publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu on an IPOB community radio, noted that bringing Nigerians together without paying attention to the core value system of these ethnic groups has effect on the development of Nigeria.
”So, these are the anomalies that Africans particularly educated Nigerians need to sit down to address. That’s why we have unrested development, that’s why nothing seems to be working because the convergence of these diverse core value system of Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo is making it impossible for Nigeria to function as a viable state.”
He further stated that he would not be agitating for sovereign state of Biafra if Nigeria was created by a Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa man.
“Nigeria was not constructed by a Yoruba man, if it were I would have accepted it, Nigeria was not created by a Fulani man, if that was the case who knows I might have accepted that, Nigeria was not created by an Hausa man either, Nigeria was created by a white man and named by a woman.”
“Nobody came from these ethnic groups, they never got together to say our name should be Nigeria. A white man determined that. I cannot get to England to say to the English people I want to rename Liverpool, I want to give it another name, I am sure they will think I am mentally ill or unstable and put me in jail.”
“Now the problem is why should Nigerians or Africans accept the name Nigeria, which does not mean anything in Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa language,” he stated.
Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Reveals Why Nigeria Cannot Work Successfully
The convergence of the diverse core value system of the North, West, and East is posing a serious obstacle for Nigeria to function as a viable state, Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said.
GolenNewsNg reports that Kanu who doubles as the director of Radio Biafra said Nigeria cannot work successfully during in an Instagram live interview with the publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momudu on Thursday evening.
The IPOB leader argued that bringing Nigerians together without paying attention to the core value system of these ethnic groups was the bane of development and unrests in the country.
His words: “So, these are the anomalies that Africans particularly educated Nigerians need to sit down to address. That’s why we have unrested development, that’s why nothing seems to be working because the convergence of these diverse core value system of Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo is making it impossible for Nigeria to function as a viable state.”
Kanu stressed that he would not have been agitating for a sovereign state of Biafra if Nigeria was created by a Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa man.
“Nigeria was not constructed by a Yoruba man, if it were I would have accepted it, Nigeria was not created by a Fulani man if that was the case who knows I might have accepted that, Nigeria was not created by an Hausa man either, Nigeria was created by a white man and named by a woman.
“Nobody came from these ethnic groups, they never got together to say our name should be Nigeria, a white man determined that. I can not get to England to say to the English people I want to rename Liverpool, I want to give it another name, I am sure they will think I am mentally I’ll or unstable and put me to jail.
“Now the problem is why should Nigerians or Africans accept the name Nigeria, which does not mean anything in Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa language,” he stated.
Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Clarifies Relationship Between IPOB And #EndSARS Protests
Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has rejected narratives trying to paint him or the IPOB group as sponsors of the #EndSARS protests.
This is as he explained on Thursday that the #EndSARS protest is a spontaneous and justifiable reaction by Nigerians against all forms of injustice in the country.
GoldenNewsNg reports the #EndSARS protests started as a call on the government to end the controversial Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a unit of the Nigeria Police Force, but quickly metamorphosed into a call on the government to end all forms of police brutality and demand a better Nigeria.
Kanu stated that those trying to link him or the IPOB group as sponsors of the protest are only pushing a wrong and unpopular propaganda.
He wrote on Twitter: “I’ve noted the propaganda to demonize the IPOB/me as the triggers of the #EndSARS protest. Well, hear this: The protest is a spontaneous & justifiable reaction by #NigerianYouths who have had enough of a #Nigeria that thrives on INJUSTICE. But if you insist it’s #IPOB, so be it.”
Meanwhile, Kanu has said “it’s highly irresponsible and dangerous for Governor Wike to conclude without any investigations” that it was IPOB members that killed ‘security personnel’ at Oyigbo.
The IPOB leader, therefore, warned that if any pro-Biafra agitator “loses his life in these your antics”, the Rivers State governor ” held eternally responsible.”
Kanu tweeted: “It’s highly irresponsible & dangerous for @GovWike to conclude – without any investigations – that it’s #IPOB members that killed ‘security personnel’ at #Obigbo.
“Dear #LittleHitler, if any #Biafran loses his life in these your antics, you will be held eternally responsible,” the tweet added.
This he said in reaction to the decision of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to proscribe IPOB in the state and ordered security agents to deal with IPOB members found in the state.
Why I Will Never Defend IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu – Deji Adeyanju
A sociopolitical activist, Deji Adeyanju, has given reasons why he cannot support the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
In a post on his Twitter handle, Adeyanju accused the IPOB leader of fuelling attacks against policemen and their stations in Rivers State.
GoldenNewsNg reports that men of the Nigeria Police Force were killed, as many stations were burnt and arms carted away during the End SARS protest.
Speaking on the recent violence in Rivers, Adeyanju stated that Kanu had told his supporters to attack the police, and that he also asked them to burn down their stations.
“Nnamdi Kanu told his supporters to attack the police & burn down police stations. That’s the person you expect me to defend? Non-violent resistance always work.
“However, the security agents must stop extrajudicial killings of those alleged to have committed any crime. If anyone has committed any crime, arrest & charge them to court.
“Stop killing Nigerians in revenge missions,” he said.
