President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated 40-year-old, Abdulrasheed Bawa as the As New EFCC Chairman ( Economic and Financial Crimes Commission).
GoldenNewsNG has gathered that President Buhari has asked the Nigerian Senate to confirm the appointment of Bawa as the new Chairman. It was gathered that Buhari addressed a letter to the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan on Tuesday, February 16.
Reports have it that Buhari stated that he was acting according to the provisions made by the Paragraph 2(3) of Part1, CAP E1 of EFCC Act 2004. Bawa’s portoflio reveals that he has served as an EFCC investigation and he has cracked many cases of Advance Fee Fraud, bank fraud, money laundering and a host of others.
Bawa also holds a B.SC in Economics and a Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy. He was also part of the founding members of EFCC Cadet Officers which was set up in 2015. As of the time of filling this report, Senate President Lawan is yet to confirm the appointment.
