There was disarray following the shortfall of Babatunde Raji Fashola and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola from Sunday’s gathering of the South-West All Progressives Congress (APC) pioneers.
In the notification of the gathering endorsed by a previous National Chairman of the gathering, Chief Bisi Akande, those welcome to the gathering incorporated the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; a previous Ogun State Governor, Chief Segun Osoba, Gen. Alani Akinrinade (retd); the Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and the Minister of Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and another gathering chief, Chief Pius Akinyelure.
Other are the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu; his Ekiti State partner, Kayode Fayemi; Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State; the Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Alhaji Musiliu Smith.
Anyway, key partners in the zone like Akeredolu and Fayemi didn’t appear at the gathering which sponsored the restriction on open touching.
The team, on Monday, credited their flake-out to a misunderstanding in correspondence, while backing the goal of the APC chiefs at the gathering held in Lagos.
However, the Minister of Works and Housing, Fashola, and his partner for Interior, Aregbesola, who were not at the critical gathering have not formally given explanations behind their nonattendance.
A clan leader of the gathering, who trusted in The Punch, said couples were not welcome to the gathering.
Another high-ranking representative of the APC, who talked about a state of namelessness, expressed, “If two previous lead representatives were at the gathering, I anticipated that the ministers should be there. They are key partners as well.”
Lani Baderinwa, an assistant responsible for Public Communication for Chief Akande, couldn’t be gone after remark on the matter.
Calls to his line didn’t go through and the answer to an instant message shipped off him on whether the pastors were welcomed, was all the while being normal as of the hour of recording this report.
Additionally, Sola Frasure, an assistant to the Minister of Interior, Aregbesola, didn’t react to an instant message inquiring as to whether the ex Osun lead representative was welcomed. He didn’t pick calls to his portable line as of the hour of documenting this report.
Likewise, Hakeem Bello, the representative for the Minister for Works and Housing couldn’t be reached.
Be that as it may, one of his previous assistants in Lagos, who declined to be named, said the pastor didn’t make reference to the gathering.
“I can’t say on the off chance that he was welcomed or not; he never notice a gathering in Lagos to us,” he said.
Yet, a source of the gathering who addressed The Punch, said there was no secret plan in the avoidance of some key partners.
He said, “This is only the first in a progression of gatherings. They were not welcome to this one in light of the fact that the current issue right now is interior.
“This resembles establishment laying, they will be welcomed along these lines. The way that they were not welcome to this one isn’t to slight anybody.”
