1. DG visits Reverend Dr. Oluwole Adetiran, composer of NYSC anthem
The visit was predicated on the news on the ill-health of the great music legend, who composed and produced the age-long NYSC anthem.
The Director-General was received by the living music legend with joyous tunes from a group of choristers, whom “Baba” himself has nurtured over time. The colourful reception was greeted by a majestic rendition of the 3-stanza NYSC Anthem, which Dr. Adetiran himself led in an astute orchestral manner.
General lbrahim was full of praise for the man who single-handedly composed what has now become a very famous anthem of the Nigerian youths in the NYSC Scheme.
2. Sallah message from the NYSC director-general
The Director-General, National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, Management and Staff of the Scheme heartily felicitate with all Muslim faithfuls on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
As we celebrate this Season, let us reflect on the teachings of the Holy book that centre on love, peace, unity and oneness — a philosophy the National Youth Service Corps has espoused in forty-eight years of existence.
Management earnestly prays that the teachings of the Almighty Allah (SWT) shall continue to abide in all Corps Members and Nigerians, remaining very visible in your individual and collective conducts, as you offer selfless service to the Nation.
3. NYSC trains public relations officers
NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has commended Public Relations Officers in the Scheme for prompt responses to false stories concerning the Scheme. He also urged them to always be vigilant to correct misconceptions about NYSC’s operations often circulated by people who use the social media fot dubious objectives.
Ibrahim stated this today in his address at the opening ceremony of NYSC Press and Public Relations Officers’ Workshop, themed; “Entrenching New Techniques for Reputation Management in the New Normal”, held in Abuja
4. NYSC DG cautions PCMs on adherence to COVID-19 safety, security measures
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has cautioned Prospective Corps Members on the need to adhere to COVID-19 Safety Protocols as well as security measures put in place to safeguard their lives and ensure the success of the forthcoming 2021 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course scheduled to commence on the 27th July, 2021.
5. NYSC DG warns ICT desk officers against unethical practices
Information and Communication Technology Desk Officers in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been warned against indulging in any form of unethical practices that can affect the operations of the Scheme
The Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, gave the warning today while addressing ICT Desk Officers from the 36 State Secretariats, as well as FCT and National Directorate Headquarters during a Workshop in Abuja.
He added that any officer caught with any form of sharp practices would be sanctioned appropriately.
