GoldenNewsNg earlier reported that the International Criminal Police Organisation arrested Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo; with his wife, Ropo, in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
This online news platform understands that Sunday Igboho’s arrest is coming after the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) raided Sunday Igboho’s Ibadan residence in the Soka area of Oyo State, southwest Nigeria on July 1, 2021, arrested about 12 of his aides and killed two of them in a gun duel.
The Nigerian secret police had declared Igboho wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms, an allegation he has since denied.
Giving an update about his arrest, the Yoruba nation agitator tweeted on microblogging platform Twitter, “I will be in court in the Benin Republic tomorrow Join me if you are around”.
GoldenNewsNg reports that the former governor of Oyo State, Chief Rashidi Ladoja has said that the Federal Government created Yoruba nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, fondly called Sunday Igboho, and the leader of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
Therefore, Ladoja said, Igboho and Kanu deserve to be given amnesty just as the government did to a number of Boko Haram insurgents that were also enlisted into some security agencies.
