FG Starts Disbursement Of AFJP Farmers Fertilizer Subsidy Grant

GoldenNewsNg gathered that the Federal Government has commenced the disbursement of the N6,154,802,000 allocated for the 1,209,143 Farmers enumerated under the FMARDPace AFJP Farmers Fertilizer Subsidy Grant Programme.

This was disclosed by farmers enumerated under the programme who have received an alert for their payment but have expressed mixed reactions querying why the amount of money shared to the Farmers are uneven.

This is coming just two weeks after the Federal Government apologized to the Enumerators engaged in the programme, assuring Enumerators that they will receive their complete remuneration without further delay.

Payment Alerts displayed by some of the beneficiaries showed that while many enumerated Farmers were receiving N3,000 as the AFJP Fertiliser Subsidy grant, some farmers received up to N12,000.

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) had in an update explained that the disbursement of the AFJP Fertilizer Subsidy Grant to the enumerated Farmers would be based on Farm Sizes of the benefiting Farmers.

The Ministry noted that while N3,000 represents 1 bag of Fertilizers for Farmers holding smaller farm sizes, Farmers with larger sizes of enumerated farms would receive multiple bags of Fertilizers which will be equated as multiple N3,000 per bag of Fertilizer.

FMARD had also stated that the full payment of the Enumerators of the AFJP Fertilizer Subsidy Grants would be effected after the disbursement of the grant to the enumerated Farmers.

In a recent announcement from the Ministry,  FMARD assured that their team is working towards ensuring payment for every valid survey carried out under the Agric for Food and Job Plan Fertilizer Subsidy Grant.
