Job Title: Refining / Packaging Coordinator

Location: Jos, Plateau
Function: Supply Chain
Job Class: JC 11
Reports To: Plant Manager – Oil Plant

Purpose of Job

Responsible for the effective supervision and organization of materials, provision of logistics and engineering support in the packaging of Grand Pure Soya Oil and the supervision, training, and motivation of team members to achieve Oil Plant targets and overall business profit targets.

Key Accountabilities
Production & Packaging:

  • Ensure packaging of agreed quantity of products meet sales & distribution forecasts.
  • Ensures production plans in terms of quantity and quality is achieved on daily basis.
  • Prepare plant and equipment for production.
  • Make packaging/raw materials available for all the shifts.
  • Provides daily reports on production activities.
  • Monitors and enforce the cleaning of machinery and environment.

Maintenance:

  • Ensure efficient operation of plant and equipment.
  • Monitors the performance of machineries and equipment, advise the management on necessary regular maintenance.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain quality assurance to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Ensures correct handling of products at various stages of manufacturing.
  • Ensures Packaging Materials are of right quality.
  • Implement all food safety activities.
  • Ensures all activities are done according to Standard Operating Procedure.

Health, Safety and Welfare:

  • Ensures health, safety and welfare of employees are assured so that organizational objectives can be optimally met.
  • Ensures production staff are well kitted and observe safety guidelines

Leadership Responsibility:

  • Ensure that departmental organization has the continuous availability of sufficient motivated and well-trained personnel.
  • Monitor performance of each staff and provide counselling services where necessary.
  • Evaluate and control manpower requirements.

Operational Responsibility:

  • Ensure that breakdowns are promptly arrested to promote the achievement of targets.
  • Ensure that production line efficiencies are maintained.
  • Available at every shift to provide facility advice and operational support to his Team.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of First Degree (HND, B.Eng. or BSc.) in Engineering or Sciences.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in related field.

Job Title: Packing Operator, BFC – Cereal Mill

Location: Jos, Plateau
Function: Supply Chain
Job Class: JC 11
Reports To: Shift Supervisor – Cereal Mill

Purpose of Job

  • Responsible for packing of products in the right packaging materials and of the right weight and reporting accurately for accountability.
  • Ensures weighing equipment are calibrated regularly.

Key Accountabilities
Production & Packaging:

  • Ensure packaged products meet the desired specification.
  • Ensures accurate weighment of packed products.
  • Ensure the right packaging materials are used.
  • Monitoring of packaging material usage for accountability and to minimize variances.
  • Regular inspection of operational equipment to ensure they are in good condition.

Maintenance:

  • Ensure efficient operation of plant and equipment.
  • Perform routine operation maintenance of packing equipment (AFFS Machine, Coding Machine, Nitrogen generator, etc.).
  • Ensure regular calibration of weighing equipment
  • Report any identified anomaly to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Support technical maintenance.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain quality assurance to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Ensure weight verification of packed products is done hourly and records kept.
  • Ensure the right coding is applied during packing.
  • Ensure correct handling of products at the packing area.
  • Ensure Nitrogen purity is ≥99% before packing commences.
  • Always ensure good housekeeping of packing area.
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of plant and equipment.

Health, Safety and Welfare:

  • Ensures health, safety and welfare of employees are assured so that organizational
  • objectives can be optimally met.
  • Participate in safety and 5S audits and follow through on closeout of action points.
  • Ensure working conditions are safe for operations.
  • Report unsafe conditions, near miss and unsafe acts and encourage others to do same
  • using the Safety Observation Cards, and inform the Supervisor.

Leadership Responsibility:

Ensure that departmental organization has the continuous availability of sufficient motivated and well-trained personnel.
Train and guide new employees and OSPs in your team on the job.
Challenge team members to perform at their peak.
Maintain internal communication.

Operational Responsibility:

Ensure that breakdowns are promptly arrested to promote the achievement of targets.
Ensure that packing line efficiencies are maintained.
Ensure set targets of Key Performance Indicators are met (Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Volume, etc.)

Education and Experience

Minimum of OND in Engineering or Sciences.
Minimum of 1 year of work experience

Job Title: Automation Technician

Location: Onitsha, Anambra
Function: Supply Chain
Reports To: Engineering Manager

Purpose of Job

To optimize the performance of machinery and equipment. Designing and implementing maintenance strategies, policies and activities across all plants, reducing breakdowns and ensuring equipment reliability and maintainability.
Perform routine checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs

Key Accountabilities

Development, implementation and review of maintenance schedules-Daily, Weekly, Monthly & Annual checklist for automated systems to eliminate equipment breakdown and downtime in plants.
Troubleshooting automation/electrical/instrumentation malfunctions and breakdowns as well as performing repairs.
Establish, implement and review maintenance policies, strategies and plans in compliance with safety regulations.
Implement approved technical projects- production facilities re-design, installation of new plants and equipment and commissioning in line with global standards.

Purpose of Job

To optimize the performance of machinery and equipment. Designing and implementing maintenance strategies, policies and activities across all plants, reducing breakdowns and ensuring equipment availability, reliability and maintainability.

Key Accountabilities

Development, implementation and review of maintenance schedules-Daily, Weekly, Monthly & Annual checklist to eliminate equipment breakdown and downtime in plants.
Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns as well as performing repairs.
Establish, implement and review maintenance policies, strategies and plans in compliance with safety regulations.
Development of local methods and /or sources of fabricating spares and machinery to reduce the dependency on spares’ import.

Education and Experience

Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a reputable manufacturing/production company with hands-on in welding, fitting, machining and general mechanical functions.

Job Title: Extruder Operator

Location: Onitsha, Anambra
Function: Supply Chain
Job Class: JC 11
Reports To: Shift Production Manager – Feeds

Purpose of Job

Will be responsible for tending to the Extrusion, Drying, Coating and Cooling process of feed manufacturing.

Key Accountabilities
Production Efficiency:

Completely tends to all equipment along the Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler line to produce extruded feeds.
Maintains an understanding of the shift’s production schedule and how it affects the work to be done.
Adjust, calibrate and test the equipment along the Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler line at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper operation. This includes checking the functionality of control parameters like motor current and valves.
Execute a flawless setup and changeover procedure including the use of the right dies, knives, knife speed and steam settings.
Completely responsible for ensuring the maximum output and efficiency of all equipment along the Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler line.
Report and act upon machine breakdowns in line with the established downtime escalation procedure.
Use regulated cleaning solutions, air hoses, cleaning cloths to properly maintain and clean dies, sharpen knives and carry out all other necessary equipment maintenance procedure.
Prepare and assist in the preparation of pertinent operational reports as requested by the Plant Manager or Factory Manager.
Initiate and maintain communications with the Shift Production Manager and the Plant Manager on all concerns regarding machine performance and product quality.

Leadership & People Management:

Train support staff on job-related tasks, including Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler operations.
Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and the associated reporting and action closure.

Quality Management:

Ensure that all manufacturing processes are carried out according to the Standard Operating Procedures.
Conduct product quality checks along the line and assure the conformance to company’s quality standards.
Maintains the cleanliness and housekeeping of the equipment along the Extruder, Dryer Vacuum Coater and Cooler line.

Health, Safety and Welfare:

Ensure safe working practices are maintained on the production floor.
Take immediate actions to limit risk to personnel, plant equipment and production during emergency situations
Responsible for the trainings and induction of team members on the company’s safety policy.

Education and Experience

Minimum of a Labour Trade Test.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in related field in the Manufacturing Industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Attitude:

Strong Logical, Analytical and Troubleshooting skill.
Quality and Customer Satisfaction Consciousness.

Job Title: Mill Planner

Location: Jos, Plateau and Onitsha, Anambra
Function: Supply Chain
Job Class: JC 11
Reports To: Plant Manager

Purpose of Job

Will be responsible for the planning of the production schedules and workflow to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay in fulfilling supply.

Key Accountabilities
Production & Packaging:

Ensure packaging of agreed quantity of products meet sales & distribution forecasts.
Coordinate production workflow for all product SKUs in the plant to deliver business plan On Time and In Full (OTIF)
Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
Determining manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
Ensure all materials (packaging, Raw materials, Chemicals, etc.) required to execute the plan are available before the plan is rolled out.
Schedule shift according to production needs.
Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget.
Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
Prepare and submit status and performance reports
Ensure timely posting of production on SAP.

Maintenance:

Ensure efficient operation of plant and equipment.
Collate all maintenance issues submitted by Production supervisors and forward to Maintenance Engineer for maintenance planning.

Quality Assurance:

Maintain quality assurance to ensure product quality and consistency.
Monitor material usage rate for accounting and variance determination.
Ensure the right materials (Packaging, Chemicals, etc.) are supplied for production.

Health, Safety and Welfare:

Ensures health, safety and welfare of employees are assured so that organizational objectives can be optimally met.
Carry out safety and 5S audit and follow through on close out of action points.
Make sure working conditions and environment are in line with the law and company policies.
Report unsafe conditions, near miss and unsafe acts and encourage others to do same using the Safety Observation Cards, also report same to the Plant Manager.

Leadership Responsibility:

Ensure that departmental organization has the continuous availability of sufficient motivated and well-trained personnel.
Assess performance and potentials of employees.
Evaluate manpower requirements.
Maintain and develop internal communication.
Participate in appraisal of Junior colleagues.

Operational Responsibility:

Ensure production plans are in line with sales demand plan
Coordinate the execution of production plan in the most effective and efficient manner.
Provide monthly shift roaster that assures adequate manning in all production sections to meet up with production plan.
Make production reports (daily, weekly and monthly) available on time.

Education and Experience

Minimum of First Degree (HND, B.Eng. or BSc.) in Engineering or Sciences.
Minimum of 2 years of work experience in related field.

Report any identified anomaly to the Shift Supervisor.
Support technical maintenance.

Quality Assurance:

Maintain quality assurance to ensure product quality and consistency.
Ensure weight verification of packed products is done hourly and records kept.
Ensure the right coding is applied during packing.
Ensure correct handling of products at the packing area.
Ensure product bins are cleaned regularly.
Always ensure good housekeeping of packing area.
Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of plant and equipment.
