Following the shooting, the DPO was forced to stop his care and he was immediately whisked away into the bush by the gunmen.

Vanguard also reports that the incident has caused fear to envelop communities in Edo state especially among people of Fugar, the headquarters of Estako central LGA.

A resident who spoke on the incident said there seems to be much fear in the area as the Edo DPO was kidnapped a few weeks before the annual Fugar day festival.

The festival always comes up during the Christmas period in the local government area.

The resident who spoke on anonymity said:

“If a DPO can be abducted, who is safe? This incident is causing panic among the people because of the Fugar Day Festival which comes up during Christmas. “
