He also condemned the proliferation of universities, particularly the specialised ones in the country, saying the action is diversionary and counter-productive to an ideal university system.

The board, in a statement, Tuesday, by its Head of Media and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the registration will now start on February 19, instead of February 12 it had earlier fixed.
“The commencement of the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) and Direct Entry(DE) Registration exercise earlier scheduled for Saturday, 12th February 2022, has now been postponed to Saturday, 19th February 2022 and to end on Saturday, 26th March 2022,” it announced in the statement.

- Select “Registration (only for 2020)” from the drop-down menu.
- Select “2021 UTME Data Correction” from the drop-down menu.
- Select “Make Payment” from the drop-down menu. Note that we are just concerned with the “Choice of Institution/Course Correction” option.
- Select “Pay Now” from the drop-down menu. Please keep the Transaction ID in mind.
- Go over the information on the Confirmation Page again. Also, take note of the bold red typeface used to represent the Transaction ID. The Transaction ID will come in handy for any future referrals to the Transaction. Your registered email address will receive a copy of this transaction ID.
