A Stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger state, Dr. Aminu Mohammed Baka has called on aspirants to join hands with the new leadership of the party to work towards retaining the presidential seat and other key positions in the forthcoming general elections.
While calling on all aspirants not picked as consensus candidates at the just concluded National convention of the party in Abuja to take it in good faith, Dr. Baka commended them for accepting in good faith the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari for consensus candidates to be chosen.
Dr Baka stated in press statement made available to Journalists in Minna that “in recent times, conducting a successful convention devoid of rancour and dissenting opinions has become a herculean task, hence, the effort put in by the Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, especially Governor Mai Mala Buni and Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello who stood in for him when preparation for the convention was on top gear should be commended.
“I want to congratulate our great party the APC on the just concluded successful convention. I also congratulate the chairman, His Excellency Abdullahi Adamu and leadership of the party.
“I have full confident that under the new leadership of our chairman, the Party will be turned around. I have no doubt that you will work with dedicated and qualified Nigerians to preserve our party and continue to lead by example as example”.
While urging all party members to continue to work for the interest of the party as there was no winner or loser during the convention, Dr Baka said, “we are all winners because our primary interest is to strengthen and unite our party.
“As we gear towards the elections, this is a time we should transform our party into an innovative one by improving and renewing our structures and procedure regularly to prolong and ensure our relevance in the hearts of the people”.
