Dollar To Naira Exchange Rate Today 16, April 2022

The official rate on Friday April 5, 2022 was N417.50 per  $1 which means dollar to naira = ₦417.50 /$1.

While at the parallel market in Lagos, dealers exchanged the naira at N583.00 and sold at N586.00 to a dollar on Thursday, while dealers in Abuja exchanged at N587.00 and sold at N588.00 per $1 and N589.00 to a dollar in Benin.

Naira falls to N590/$1 at peer-to-peer market

The exchange rate between the naira and the US dollar closed at N416.67/$1 at the Investors and Exporters (I&E) window.

Naira depreciated marginally by 0.01% on Wednesday, 13th April 2022 to close at N416.67/$1 compared to N416.62/$1 recorded in the previous trading session. The downturn is following a 21.19% drop in FX supply at the official market as only $113.72 million exchanged hands.

Similarly, the exchange rate at the peer-to-peer market fell sharply to N590/$1 on Thursday morning, representing the highest rate recorded since we started tracking the market. It also represents a 0.51% depreciation compared to N587/$1 recorded in the previous trading session.The exchange rate at the parallel market closed flat at N588/$1 on Wednesday, declining by 0.17% compared to N587/$1 traded in the previous day. This is according to information obtained from BDCs operating in Nigeria.

The local currency opened at N586.00 per $1 at the parallel market otherwise known as the black market, today, Friday, 15 April 2022, in Lagos Nigeria, after it closed N587.00 per $1 on Thursday, 14 April 2022.

Exchange rate gains at official market as foreign reserve continues with uptrend

Tuesday, 12th April 2022: The exchange rate between the naira and the US dollar closed at N416.62/$1 at the official Investors and Exporters (I&E) window.

Naira appreciated by 0.09% to close at N416.62/$1 on Tuesday, 12th April 2022 compared to N417/$1 recorded on Monday. Forex turnover also increased by 13.51% to $144.29 million on Tuesday, representing the highest daily supply in the past four trading sessions.

On the other hand, the exchange rate at the peer-to-peer market appreciated massively to N580/$1, representing a 1.19% appreciation compared to N587/$1 recorded in the previous trading session.

The exchange rate at the parallel market closed flat at N587/$1, the same as recorded in the previous trading session. This is according to information obtained from BDCs operating in Nigeria.

Naira falls at I&E window despite improved dollar supply in the market

Monday, 11th April 2022: The exchange rate between the naira and the US dollar closed at N416.17/$1 at the official Investors and Exporters (I&E) window

Naira started the week on a negative note with a 0.08% depreciation to close at N417/$1 on Monday, from N416.67/$1 recorded as of the close of trading activities in the previous week. This is despite a 17.4% increase in dollar supply in the official market.

In the same vein, the exchange rate at the peer-to-peer market depreciated marginally by 0.17% to trade at a minimum of N587/$1 on Tuesday morning compared to N586/$1 recorded in the previous day. Naira had dropped significantly on Monday from N576/$1 recorded as of the close of trade on Friday

On the hand, the exchange rate at the parallel market closed flat at N587/$1, the same as recorded in the previous trading session. This is according to information obtained from BDCs operating in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s foreign reserve improved by 0.03% to stand at $39.66 billion compared to $39.65 billion recorded as of the previous day. Meanwhile, the Central Bank has continued to intervene in the official forex market from the external reserve in order to maintain the stability of the local currency.
