The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, has advised students of the institution to avoid distractions and remain committed to their academic pursuit as they prepare for the 2021/2022 first semester examinations scheduled to commence on Monday 16th May, 2022.

Dr. Usman gave the advice on Thursday 12th May, 2022, during the emergency meeting of the Academic Board of the institution. He said the Polytechnic management was committed to making teaching and learning environment conducive for both staff and students.

He added that students’ good academic performance is a direct result of dedication and hardwork achieved under a conducive learning atmosphere which the Institution has put in place.

He therefore urged students to be diligent in their studies and graduate as planned.

He decried the high turnover of student withdrawal from the institution due mainly to poor academic performance.

The most recent instance, he recalled, was the withdrawal of 196 students by the Academic Board at her regular meeting held on Friday, 25th March, 2022.
