According to the data from the CBN, the exchange rate between the naira and the British pounds opened at ₦518.0198/£1 on Monday, May 23rd, after it sold at ₦515.8696 to a £1 on Friday, 20th May 2022.

GoldenNewsNg reports that a pound is bought at the official market at ₦517.3958 and sold for ₦518.6438.

What is the exchange rate of Pounds to Naira in Black Market today?

The exchange rate for a pound to naira at Lagos Parallel Market (Black Market) – Pounds exchanged for as low as ₦754 and as high as ₦760 on Monday, May 23rd, 2022, according to sources at Bureau De Change (BDC).

The Lagos Parallel Market (Black Market) players buy a pounds for ₦754 and sell at ₦886 on Monday, May 23rd, 2022, according to data obtained from Bureau De Change (BDC).

Even though the pounds to naira opened in the parallel market at ₦754 per $1 today, GoldenNewsNg reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognize the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market. The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.
