Apart from the finalists who made the front pages of major newspapers during the show’s finals, it has also discovered and inspired a large number of singers across Nigeria.

From its inception in 2011, until 2015, Nigerian Idol was an annual event. It was five years before Multichoice resurrected the music talent program in 2021.

Multichoice has been able to secure major sponsors such as Tecno Mobile and Bigi Drinks, as well as Binance bitcoin Exchange and Close-up.

This page details the winners of Nigerian Idols seasons 1 through 7, which concluded on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

Season 7

  • Winner: Progress Chukwueme aka Progress
  • Age: 21-year-old

Season 7 of Nigerian Idol, which began on a high note with hundreds of aspirant Nigerians around the country, whittled down the top 10 to only 12.

Progress from Delta State was crowned the show’s winner on Sunday, May 22, 2022, defeating Zadok to receive a reward worth one hundred million naira.

Progress, who once stated in an interview that his mother was late, was overcome with emotion as the show’s host declared him as the winner.

Zadok came in second.
Simi, D’banj, Obi Asika featuring Yinka Davies, and Mowumi are the judges.

Season 6

  • Winner: Kingdom Kroseide
  • Age: 24-year-old

Kingdom emerged over other brilliant contenders to win the competition on July 11, 2021.
