Adekunle Akinlade, the Ogun State Director General of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, has stated that Ogun State residents will vote for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, regardless of their ethnicity.
Goldennewsng reports that Akinlade stated that Atiku would defeat APC candidate Bola Tinubu and other candidates to win the state election in 2023, declaring that failure is not an option.
Akinlade, who is also the PDP’s state deputy governorship candidate, said that the ruling party was having trouble sleeping because of a recent court decision that said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had to recognize Ladi Adebutu as the governorship candidate.
Akinlade urged Nigerians to vote for the PDP in all elections while speaking at the meeting of the PCC members on Monday in Abeokuta. He said that the party leaders from all 20 local governments in the state have the authority to get votes for Atiku and other candidates in the upcoming elections.
We expect everyone to exert themselves. I have no doubt that we will win the first election with Atiku, and I have no doubt that we will also win the second election with the PDP in Ogun State. We will vote for the PDP regardless of our feelings.
We will work ward by ward and from local government to local government. A lot of what we’re going to do involves peaceful and strategic interactions with the general public. We have the information and know who has registered to vote. We will actually make use of the data. We cannot afford to fail in Ogun State, and we cannot afford to fail nationally,” he stated.
Sikirullahi Ogundele, the State Chairman, stated, “PDP is hungry to return to power” at the state and national levels.
Ogundele approached the PCC individuals to consider their arrangements to be a call to obligation and work as one to guarantee the party’s triumph one year from now.
