2023 Election: Uzodimma Reveals Reasons Why Igbo Should Vote Tinubu

Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, has explained why Igbo people should support Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC’s candidate for president in 2023.

Goldennewsng reports that he claimed that the Second Niger Bridge that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration constructed was sufficient to convince the Igbo people living in the South-East geopolitical zone to support Tinubu.

During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Uzodimma made this claim.

He stated, “Senator Bola Tinubu is the party in power’s presidential candidate for the APC.” After the civil war ended in 1970, the Igbo people requested the Second Niger Bridge, and each subsequent government made promises that were not kept.

The previous Christmas was celebrated with joy; Igbos crossing the Second Niger Bridge from outside the Southeast. That is even sufficient to convince the entire Igbo population to support Buhari’s legacy.

Uzodimma, who is in charge of Tinubu’s campaign in the South-East, also said that most federal roads in the area have gotten enough attention from the budgetary commission and that commuters no longer suffer as much as they used to.

It has nothing to do with whether Bola Tinubu and I are from the same region; It is about the programs, to the extent that our great party’s manifesto has won people over and endeared them. He stated, “I have every confidence that the APC is the party to beat in Nigeria.”

Uzodimma also stated that he is running a united campaign for all APC candidates in the South-East, expressing optimism that the party’s candidates for governor, House of Representatives, and Senate positions will be elected.

The Federal Government temporarily opened the bridge to traffic on December 15, 2022, in anticipation of the project’s final completion, to make travel easier for holiday travelers.

The bridge, which spans 1.6 kilometers, connects Delta and Anambra states.

During the political campaign that ran from 1978 to 1979, then-candidate Shehu Shagari of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) made the initial proposal for the Second Niger Bridge.
