As Nigeria prepares for the forthcoming 2023 general elections, former Governor of Niger State, Muazu  Babangida Aliyu has called on members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to work assiduously to ensure that the Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar wins the elections and by extension the Governorship Candidate, Isah Liman Kantigi.
Speaking during his acceptance speech as the Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council at the state party secretariat in Minna, Babangida Aliyu assured that he, alongside other members will give their best for the success of the party.
According to him “We are one, and most of us know that if Atiku wins the Presidential elections then it will reflect at the State Governorship elections and we will also win the Governorship.
“Please go up there and work as if you will never die. Let’s always remember that it is our efforts that will give us the result so that we can prove to Nigerlites that PDP is what can deliver the people.”
He added that under the PDP government schools can never be allowed to go on strike, just as the issue of insecurity would be tackled headon.
Earlier, while reeling out the names of committee members, State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Barrister Tanko Beji charged the state Presidential Committee Council and Governorship campaign, to stand united by working tirelessly to reclaim leadership of the State ahead of the 2023 elections.
Beji while disclosing that the PDP has the capacity to win at the state and across the country noted the need for members of the committee to go to the nooks and crannies of the state and sell the party to residents.
Accordingly, he said “the PDP in Niger has the capacity and all it takes to win the Elections, we will reclaim our Country and our State”.
In his remarks, Director-General of the party’s Presidential Campaign Organisation and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal urged members of the Committees to work towards achieving success.
Tambuwal who was represented by Abdullahi Useni Maibasira told members of the PDP in Niger “Unity and purposefulness is what we need and by the grace of God, 2023, we will emerge victorious”.
