Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has pledged to end poverty and hunger in Nigeria if elected in the upcoming election.
Goldennewsng reports that Obi appealed to Nigerians and residents of Ekiti State to support him in the election on February 25, 2023.
He spoke at the massive party campaign rally on Thursday at the Ado-Ekiti State Pavilion.
His words are: I will eradicate hunger, poverty, and numerous graduate joblessness in Nigeria.
“My administration will transform this nation from one of consumption into one of production, bringing the benefits of good governance to the people’s doorsteps.”
“Not only will I put an end to corruption, but I will also end poverty in every state of the federation because our young people will be properly cared for and they won’t be leaving the country in search of better opportunities.
“Please come out and vote for the Labour Party in the upcoming presidential election, the good people of Ekiti.”
Additionally, the flagbearer of the Labour Party stated that he and his vice, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, are the most qualified presidential candidates.
In addition, Obi urged young people in the state and the general public to avoid vote buying and selling in order to elect the most qualified candidates in the 2023 election.
“You cannot compare the education of me and Datti with that of any other group. This job requires physical and mental energy, and I and Datti are the most qualified. Datti and I are submissive to it.
“This year’s election must be based on competence because we want competent candidates who comprehend our nation’s issues.
He stated, “Let nobody tell you it is his turn, it is nobody’s turn, it is the youth of Nigeria to take back their country, and we must not allow anyone to buy our votes in the coming election.”
