Niger state governorship aspirant under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Mohammed Idris Malagi has donated a total of 31 Sharon buses and forty three million naira (N43 million) cash for the party operations.
Malagi made the announcement when he officially visited the state secretariat on Tuesday in Minna, saying that the donation was aimed at strengthening the party’s operation.
He declared his intention to contest for the governorship seat come 2023 assuring to continue his support and assistance to the party.
According to him “I will let the cat out off the bag, yes, I am aspiring to be the next governor of Niger state but today I am here to identify with the platform which is my party, the APC and to strengthen the party through the donations”.
“Each of the 25 local governments is to receive a vehicle and donation of N1 million cash, each of the three zonal offices got a bus and N1 million while the party state secretariat got three buses and a cash donation of N15 million.
Malagi who is the publisher of Blueprint Newspaper pledged his absolute loyalty to the party and call for unity of APC in Niger state and Nigeria.
Responding, the Niger State APC chairman, Hon. Zakari Jikantoro however appreciated the kind gesture aimed at strengthening the party in the state as a welcome idea, assuring to sustain victory at all levels of the forthcoming elections.
He maintained that the gesture was enough for his future aspiration and prayed for his success in his ambition, noting that the party would sustain its unity taking into cognizance of being a ruling party at all levels to its advantage.
