2023: “This Election Is About Character” – Peter Obi Tells Nigerians

Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has urged Nigerians to vote based on character rather than tribe ahead of the general elections.

Goldennewsng reports that this was what Obi said on Saturday at the town hall meeting in Akure to ask Ondo Statens for their support in the election on February 25.

He said that he and Ahmed Datti, his running mate, had a history that could be traced, and that if he was elected president, Nigerians would be proud of their country and feel safe.

Obi added that the reason he could save the people of Anambra State as governor was because he was stingy but not corrupt.

They stated, “They said I’m stingy; now we want stingy people so we can keep the money.” We want to ensure that your funds are used to transform the nation.

“Don’t vote for tribe; if they say it’s their turn, tell them it’s your turn to take back the country. Don’t vote for tribe. We’re prepared to save the nation.

“Character is the focus of this election. We don’t know their age, but you know our background and the school we went to, he said.
