… Reaffirm support for peaceful Congress
Stakeholders of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State have reaffirmed their support for elective congress for delegates to freely chose their leaders without any form of hinderance.
In a simultaneously meeting which held in the three Senatorial Zones of Niger East, Niger North and Niger South on Tuesday in Bida, Minna and Kontagora, the stakeholders resolved that all politics is local, therefore every leader should fall back to his locality.
The stakeholders also commended the National Working Committee for approving and fixing the 7th of August 2021 for the state Congress, their Supports and reaffirmed readiness for the conduct of State congress on the 7th August, 2021.
According a PDP Stalwart, Usman Yahaya Baba who spoke with our Correspondent “there are no positions to be shared as PDP is a Democrat party where all are free to vie for any positions in accordance with the party constitution and guidelines”.
The Party also hailed the NWC for fixing the State Congress for 7th August, 2021, to elect new set of leaders to run the affairs of the party for another four years.
Yahaya further disclosed that all members have pledged to see that it is a free, fair & rancor free state congress.

The meeting had in attendance Senator Zaynab Kure, Professor Jerry Gana, Hon. Baba Shehu Agaie former speakers, commissioners and council chairmen in Niger South, while, former Deputy Governor Dr. Shem Zagbayi Nuhu, former and former Minister, Hon. Abubakar A. Tanko, party leaders, elected and appointed past officers of the party attended in Niger East and Niger North.
