Sad thye Russian space agency has announced the passing on of Alexie Leonov the first man to walk in space 54 years ago.
report has it that Mr Alexei Leonov died at the age of 85.
meanwhile Roscosmos in his statement on the ofiicial website state that Leonov passed away on Friday 11th of October 2019.
Astronaut Leonov performed his space walk on march 18th of october 1965 when he exited his voskhod 2 capsule secured by a tether report stated.
furthermore, on his second trip to the space 10 years later, he lead the soviet half of the Apollo Soyuz 19 mission.
it was further recorded as the first joint space mission between the soviet union and the united states of America (USA) to carry out at the blink of the cold war.
