Niger PDP picks Sen. Zaynab Kure as new Party leader

Wife of late former Governor of Niger State, Senator Zaynab Kure, has been endorsed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Niger State chapter as the leader of the party in the state.

Senator Kure who was unanimously endorsed in a statement signed by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Suleiman Ahmed Aliyu is to replace Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu whom the party said is now reverted back to his position of member of the party and Former Governor.

It should be recalled that in September this year, Senator Kure replaced former Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), representing North Central Geo-political zone.

The PDP after a stakeholders’ meeting at its Secretariat in Minna, moved and adopted a motion by the State Auditor, Alhaji Mamman Gambo Suleja, who moved on behalf of the State executive committee.

According to him “in appreciation of the contributions of Senator Zaynab Kure to the development of the PDP in Niger state, I move that Senator Zaynab Kure is endorsed as the leader of the PDP in Niger State.”

The motion was then put to a voice vote by the state party Chairman, Barrister Tanko Beji, was adopted and greeted with a standing ovation by all party members.

In her acceptance speech, Senator Zaynab Kure called on all party members to double their effort in ensuring that the party wins the next election and salvage the state.
