Council Chairman empowers 200 Women in Niger

As part of efforts to fulfill his promises, the Chairman of Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State, Ibrahim Abubakar Lalalo has empowered two hundred women with the sum of two million naira (N2,000,000).
The Chairman during the flag-off ceremony, promised to continue the implementation of policies and programmes that will reduce the sufferings and hardships of the people.
Lalalo while appealing to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds, promised to implement programmes that will address the challenges of the residents.
While lamenting the Council’s inability to pay 100% and its resolve to Staff salary payment in percentage, he said it was due to over blotted staff strength of over two thousand workforce.
Lalalo then appealed to workers to be patient with the current situation stating that he requires about N272 million monthly but only gets a little over N138 million leaving a deficit of over N130 million that the council can not generate in a month.
He explained that the council had resolved with the labour not to retrench workers as such would expose many to hardship hence the need to pay in percentage until normalcy is restored.
The Council Speaker, Sani Imam, however appreciated the Chairman for the Initiative, assuring that the council will continue to support people oriented programmes that have direct impact on the lives of the people.
Some of the beneficiaries commended the Chairman for the kind gesture assuring to make judicious use of the funds.
