Sterling Bank has opened nominations for the second cohort of its ₦2 billion Beyond Education Scholarship Fund, following the successful completion of the first phase that sponsored 600 Nigerians through fully funded degree programmes.
In a statement, the bank congratulated Cohort One beneficiaries and confirmed that applications for the next batch are now open. It described the initiative as part of its long-term commitment to ensuring access to quality education for young Nigerians regardless of financial barriers.
The scholarship covers full tuition and degree funding with no hidden charges, delivered entirely online through Miva Open University’s platform, with additional support provided at community learning hubs. According to Sterling Bank, the programme is open to Nigerians aged 16 to 35, with priority given to underserved women while also reserving slots for men.
Unlike traditional entry requirements, applicants are not required to sit for JAMB or UTME. The bank explained that the model is designed to remove structural barriers that prevent young people from pursuing higher education.
Interested candidates can nominate themselves or others by visiting sterling.ng/FUTURE, using their Sterling account to complete the process. Nominations are subject to verification before winners are selected weekly through a public voting process.
The bank emphasized that the scholarship represents more than just tuition support, noting that it is a practical step toward addressing Nigeria’s education gap by empowering youths through technology-driven learning and sustainable funding.
