Former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, has dumped the All Progressives Congress APC for the People’s Democratic Party PDP.
Uduaghan returned to the party where he served for eight years as Governor of Delta State at his Unit 1, Ward 6 at Abigborodo in his hometown, and was duly accompanied by thousands of supporters on Monday.
“I am back to join forces with other party greats to strengthen our party, the largest in Africa, PDP,” he said.
The immediate past governor of Delta State on August 29, 2019 defected to the All Progressives Congress APC, in protest against perceived maltreatment by the PDP.
While in APC, he contested the Delta South Senatorial Seat in 2019 but lost to Senator James Manager.
With the re-election of Governor Godwin Obaseki as Governor of Edo State, PDP now control the South-South region and it is not a surprise the ex-governor has returned to his former party, as he might be quietly conceiving the thought of running again in 2023.
In the past two weeks, Dr Uduaghan has met with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as well as another former Governor of the State, James Ibori.
