A few hours ago, the Nigerian police paraded three detained men, claiming they were the masterminds behind the popular Instagram blog, Gistlover.
According to reports, the police arrested these suspects based on a petition filed by Hon and Doctor Mrs. Seye Oladejo, accusing them of conspiracy, cyberstalking, and endangering one’s life.
A statement from the Nigeria Police Force’s spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, identified the accused as Adebukola Kolapo Nnedum, Micheal Somtomchukwu, and Isaac Akpokighe. They were alleged members of the Gistlover family, a syndicate responsible for the daily operation of the Gistlover blog, a microblogging platform known for activities such as cyberstalking, incitement, blackmail, and more, which has triggered public outcry over the years.
However, shortly after the supposed arrest, the actual face behind the Gistlover blog took to his page to mock the Nigerian police for parading individuals he claims are not the operators of his page.
In a post on his page, he wrote, “@nigeriapoliceforce, you guys are a big joke🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Is this how useless and senseless you guys are? A big joke and clout 🤣🤣🤣 just to prove what? Bring one evidence wey una see say na those boys be gistlover, make una do una mumu finish. Ati arrester ooo ati petitioner ooo, all of una na lawsuit Go Jam una this new year. Since you all have money to waste for court, let’s fvcking go there, aye yin onida.”
