The roster of licensed companies and organizations eligible to sponsor skilled immigrants under the temporary worker immigration route in the United Kingdom has been recently revised. According to the updated details on its website, the latest list, refreshed on January 15, 2024, now includes 99,856 approved entities, signifying a substantial increase from the 68,630 companies approved as of January 2023.

The list encompasses diverse sectors, such as technology, commerce, education, media and advertising, and engineering, among others. The skilled worker route covers various categories like charity workers, skilled workers, creative workers, global business mobility, senior or specialist workers, and international sportspersons.

In an official note on its website, the UK government states, “This document lists worker and temporary worker sponsors, including information about the category of workers they’re licensed to sponsor and their sponsorship rating. The skilled worker route comprises charity workers, skilled workers, creative workers, global business mobility: senior or specialist workers, and international sportspersons.”

Prospective individuals are encouraged to explore the company’s website to identify available job opportunities. Some of the companies on the list include:

The UK government has recently introduced a comprehensive five-point plan aimed at controlling immigration.

Additionally, in January 2024, the UK Home Office announced the initiation of the implementation of a policy that prohibits Nigerian students and other international students from bringing dependants through the study visa route.
