Six weeks have passed since President Tinubu ordered the suspension of all programs administered by the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) and directed a panel, chaired by Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, to conduct a comprehensive diagnostic on the financial architecture and framework of the social investment programs. However, no concrete updates have been provided regarding the outcome of this directive.
The National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) is a Nigerian government initiative aimed at addressing poverty, hunger, and inequality by offering economic and social support to vulnerable populations. Established in 2016, it comprises four core programs: N-Power, NHGSFP, GEEP, and CCT.
