Each year, the Abu Dhabi Government offers the Zayed Future Energy Prize, allocating a total Prize fund of US $3 million to entrepreneurs, celebrating achievements that embody impact, innovation, long-term vision, and leadership in renewable energy and sustainability.
This initiative honors the legacy of the late founding father of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, with Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, managing the Prize through a dedicated team working tirelessly year-round.

Prize Categories
The Zayed Future Energy Prize encompasses five distinct categories:
- Health
- Food
- Energy
- Water
- Global High Schools
- One award for each of the following regions: The Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Asia.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
- Eligible Countries: All countries in The Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Asia can participate.
- Eligibility: The Prize is open to all entrants except board members and employees of Masdar and individuals involved in organizing, promoting, or judging the Prize.
- Selection Criteria: Entries are evaluated based on Innovation, Impact, Leadership, and Long-Term Vision.
Number and Value of Awards
- Number of Awardees: Multiple recipients are selected.
- Value of Awards: The total Prize fund amounts to US $3 million, distributed across different categories:
- Health, Food, Energy, Water, and Climate Action: US $600,000 each.
- Global High Schools: A total value of US $600,000, divided among six regions, awarding each up to US $100,000.
Application Process
To initiate your entry, register an account with the Prize. Upon verification of your email address, you can commence your submission by logging into the system.
You have the option to save and return to your submission form for editing at a later time, but once submitted, entries cannot be edited.
Ensure that your submission is detailed and clear to facilitate proper analysis by the judges.
