The Kano State Governor, has reacted to the formation of the Special Weapons and Tactics, SWAT, unit of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, as a right step in the right direction.
Ganduje made the remark while commending President Muhammadu Buhari for the formation of SWAT, NAN reports.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu had formed SWAT as a replacement for the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, following protest by Nigerians.

The Kano State governor pointed out that SWAT would help combat crime in the country.
Ganduje’s position was disclosed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, on Wednesday.

“We noticed that there are protests in some sections of the country while in Kano, the youth decided to take a good stand by not condemning the police as an institution, rather condemned the few bad eggs among them.
