While making this disclosure, the Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa vowed that the Commission would do its best to ensure the five thousand youths translate into millionaires in the society.

According to him “the N-HYPPADEC has decided to intervene in providing meaningful means for our youths after we carried out risk assessment exercise in 2021 and discovered that, youth unemployment was a time bomb.

“In order to key into the agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Agenda to provide jobs for the youths, we decided to start with 5,000 youths in six N-HYPPADEC states. By this initiative, we want to add 5,000 millionaires into the streets of N-HYPPADEC States in Nigeria”.

Speaking at the Youth Transformation Programme (YTP) workshop in conjunction with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Minna, the Managing Director explained that, the benefiting youth were carefully selected from the initial Six HYPPADEC States of Niger, Kwara, Benue, Plateau, Kogi and Kebbi States respectively.

According to him “each of the 5000 beneficiaries while undergoing their training has been placed on monthly stipend to discourage distraction and we are partnering with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and NBTE to avail participants thirty two different skill acquisition models ranging from livestock farming, computer programming to tailoring and we are expending N1.8billion on them.

“After the successful completion of the training, the CAC would ensure that each participant’s business is formally registered at no cost to them as we have secured a discount rate of 50 percent to register their businesses.”

He further stated that to forestall the unfortunate practice were some beneficiaries of intervention programme sell off their starter packs, the commission has insisted that each beneficiaries must forward a letter from a guarantor before their packs would be released to them.

The Corporate Affairs Commission representative and Registration Secretary of Commission, Alhaji Kabiru Sani while applauding the N-HYPPADEC initiative and calling on participants to properly understand the entire process for seamless registration, said the participants will be registered under Excel Business Registration Portal of the Commission.

Earlier in his remarks, the Director Community and Rural Development, Dr Mahmud Umar represented by Deputy Director and MDs Special Adviser on Technical, Dr Yasin Abubakar appreciated the management committee for the foresight, saying “we pray for the success of the scheme which is aimed at job creation for the youths in the N-HYPPADEC states.”
