The Federal Government is stepping up its empowerment initiatives once again — this time with a fresh focus on practical skills development under the NPower Skill-to-Wealth Program. If you’ve been following the latest NPower news, you’ll know that the automobile repair training category is the first to roll out.

In case you missed it, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CIG Motors, setting the stage for hands-on training for Nigerian youths. This initiative aims to equip participants with valuable technical skills and connect them with income-generating opportunities.

Here are 5 important things you need to know about the new NPower Skill-to-Wealth Program:

1. Automobile Repair Training Kicks Off the Program

The Skill-to-Wealth initiative will officially begin with automobile repair training, giving youths technical knowledge and real-world skills in auto maintenance and diagnostics. This category will serve as the pilot phase before expanding to other sectors.

2. 365 Nigerian Youths to Participate Initially

The program will start with 365 participants drawn from various parts of the country. This targeted approach ensures quality training and mentorship while creating opportunities for these individuals to become self-reliant.

3. Training to Take Place in Six Geo-Political Zones

The training will be decentralized across six states, one from each of Nigeria’s six geo-political zones. This setup aims to ensure nationwide reach and equal opportunity for youths regardless of their location.

4. CIG Motors to Lead the Automobile Training

CIG Motors, a major player in Nigeria’s auto industry, has partnered with the government to conduct the hands-on training sessions. Their involvement will expose beneficiaries to real industry experience, tools, and modern vehicle systems.

5. Humanitarian Ministry to Oversee Implementation

The entire Skill-to-Wealth program is being coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, ensuring that it aligns with national goals for poverty reduction and youth empowerment.

As the NPower Skill-to-Wealth Program prepares to launch, thousands of young Nigerians are looking forward to this fresh opportunity to acquire income-generating skills. Stay tuned — we’ll keep you updated on the start date, how to apply, and other categories that may be introduced.
