Pastor Amos Isah has been arrested for allegedly defilling a 14 Year-Old Girl

GoldenNewsNg  reports that the Nigeria Police Force has arrested and detained Pastor Amos Isah, the founder of Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry in Gwagwalada, Abuja, over the alleged defilement of a 14-year-old girl.

According to sources at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Pastor Isah was apprehended last week following a complaint filed against him for allegedly raping the minor. Investigators said the cleric used his spiritual authority to lure and exploit the teenage girl.

Efforts by Pastor Isah to secure administrative bail have so far been denied by the police.

“The police said they would not release him on bail. They are waiting for legal advice before charging him to court,” a police source familiar with the case told SaharaReporters.

The development has triggered shock among his congregation. According to members of the church, Pastor Isah had previously announced that he was traveling abroad. His absence from a scheduled service on Thursday, June 19, further raised suspicion.

The church, located behind Noble Noel Academy and opposite the Gwagwalada Market, has reportedly witnessed a drop in attendance since the news broke.

A review of Pastor Isah’s Facebook page shows that the pastor frequently posted spiritual messages about holiness and righteousness. On June 11, he wrote:

“The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion. We need the Holy Spirit’s help any time we stand up for Jesus.”

On Father’s Day, June 15, he posted:

“Dear God, thank you for the gift of fatherhood. We pray for all fathers… May You give them the strength to be a vessel of Your love.”

Despite this public image, police sources say he is being investigated for serious sexual misconduct involving a minor.

Attempts to contact Pastor Isah for comment were unsuccessful as his mobile phone remained unreachable at the time of filing this report. No official statement has been issued by the church.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and that legal advice from the appropriate authorities will determine the next step. If indicted, the cleric could face prosecution under Nigeria’s child protection laws.

The case has reignited debate around the conduct of religious leaders and the need for stronger safeguards against abuse of trust within faith-based communities.
