The Federal Government has announced the temporary suspension of recruitment into several of its paramilitary agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Correctional Service.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Maj-Gen A.M. Jibril (rtd), dated July 16, 2025. According to the statement, the recruitment portal will be reopened on Monday, July 21, 2025.
Jibril explained that the decision was taken to enhance the efficiency of the system and ensure that the portal can accommodate the large volume of applications received. He emphasized that the move was necessary to guarantee a transparent and fair recruitment process.

He noted that the enthusiasm shown by young Nigerians to join the various services has been commendable and that the Board remains committed to conducting a credible selection exercise. While acknowledging the temporary nature of the suspension, he reassured applicants that efforts are being made to ensure the portal is fully optimized for a seamless experience when it reopens.
Applicants are urged to remain patient and avoid unofficial sources or fraudulent agents. The Board reiterated its commitment to a merit-based recruitment process and advised all interested candidates to visit the official portal on the resumption date for further details.
