Teach For Nigeria Inducts 502 Fellows, 93 School Leaders into 2025 Cohort

Teach For Nigeria has inducted its ninth cohort of Fellows and fifth cohort of school leaders into its flagship fellowship programme, admitting 502 Fellows and 93 school leaders for the 2025 intake.

The induction ceremony, held in Lagos with the theme “One Classroom, Infinite Possibilities: The Future Is Now!”, marked the beginning of a two-year journey for the participants who recently concluded intensive training in teaching and leadership.

The organisation explained that the programme is designed to prepare young professionals to transform classrooms, empower students, and reimagine learning in underserved schools across Lagos and Ogun states. Since its launch in 2017, Teach For Nigeria has deployed 2,463 Fellows in public schools in Lagos, Ogun, Kaduna, and Oyo states.

According to the group, more than 40,000 people applied for the 2025 fellowship, but fewer than 600 were selected after a competitive recruitment process.

Chief Executive Officer of Teach For Nigeria, Molade Adeniyi, urged the new inductees to view themselves as nation-builders. She said every classroom holds the potential to shape future doctors, engineers, artists, and leaders, stressing that every child can thrive if given the right opportunities.

The keynote address was delivered by Chief Executive Officer of Kizazi, Rhoda Odigboh, who praised the organisation’s role in strengthening education and encouraged the inductees to see the fellowship as a chance to make lasting change.

The Ogun State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, represented by Bolaji Adedipe, delivered a goodwill message and commended the initiative while pledging government support.

Over the next two years, the Fellows will serve as full-time teachers in underserved schools, providing not only classroom lessons but also helping to address systemic challenges that limit children’s learning outcomes.

Teach For Nigeria called on government agencies, the private sector, civil society organisations, and citizens to collaborate in expanding access to education, noting that the new Fellows will shape Nigeria’s future one child at a time.
