The State Chairman appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure the full regulation of food prices to alleviate the sufferings of the masses.

While making the call in a message to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day, Yohanna who is also the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, charged Nigerians to commit the Country and leaders into the hands of God and to seek God’s intervention for an end to the prevailing insecurity and economic realities.

Accordingly, he said “as a Body, CAN believes the challenges even though enormous, are surmountable, and by the grace of God there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

“I want to join my voice with millions of Nigerians to call on our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to make frantic efforts to do all he can to stabilise the economy and ensure the security of lives and properties especially in areas affected by banditry.

“Mr. President, as you plan to boost the economy of the country, we look forward for the increase in trade, falling food prices, decline inflation, a strengthened currency and growing of external reserves”.

Bishop Yohanna appealed to Nigerlites to deepen their prayers for the peace, unity and prosperity of the State.

While congratulating the Farmer Governor of Niger state, Mohammed Umaru Bago and all well meaning Nigerlites on the 65th anniversary of nationhood, he urged him to remain determined and resolute in ensuring lives and livelihoods are secured and that the New Niger Agenda is achieved to the benefit of all.

Furthermore, he urged Christians not to focus on the negatives alone, but to reflect on God’s mercies, favours and be thankful to Him for keeping the nation as one entity despite the challenges.
