Manchester City will not extend Fernandinho’s contract, which ends on 30 June, and the player is considering his future.
Giovanni Branchini, an agent of the player, said in ‘Globoesporte’ that he is considering a return to Athletico Paranaense, the club in which he began his career.
After eight years, Fernandinho will put an end to his time at Manchester City this summer. He leaves after more than 330 games at the club where he is the captain.
Curiously, the player has only worn three shirts during his professional career. Manchester City, Shakhtar Donetsk for another eight seasons and Athletico Parabens.
It was at the Brazilian club where he began his career at the age of 18, before making the leap to Ukraine at 20. And after finishing his time as a citizen, it seems that he is considering wearing the same shield on his chest again.
His agent spoke to ‘Globoesporte’: “We have received several proposals, good projects of Brazilian and European clubs for Fernandinho. I think it will not be long before I know what decision he will make”.
“Everyone knows that Fernandinho is very fond of Athletico Paranaense and its management. I even have an excellent relationship with President Mario Celso Petraglia. Conversations have always happened, but I cannot go ahead and say that we talk about money, for example. There is nothing yet,” he explained.
