One of the judges of the Federal High Court Justice Ibrahim Watila, has passed away, plunging the Nigerian judiciary fraternity into mourning.
Justice Ibrahim, who until his death was serving at the Abeokuta division of the court, died on Sunday, January 24. According to a statement released by the chief judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tosho, Watila gave up the ghost after a brief illness.
GoldenNewsNg gathers that his colleagues have been suspending sittings as a mark of honour to the late judge. He was appointed to the bench on December 2, 2015, by President Muhammadu Buhari after being recommended by the National Judiciary Council (NJC).
According to a family source, the former minister who served twice died in his hometown in Ago-Iwoye.
