The 17-year-old Secondary Schoolgirl who took a gun to allegedly deal with her teacher in Cross River State has confessed to being a cult member, as she disclosed how she got the gun.
Few days back, a schoolgirl named Promise Idoreyin had taken a gun to her school Community Secondary School, Ikot Ewa, and it was alleged that she want to deal with her teacher who told her to cut her hair because of the colour extension it had.
However, before she could carry out this plan, the double-barreled gun was seized by her Principal. In the latest development, the State Police Commissioner has debunked the news that Promise took the gun to shoot her teacher.
According to him, the principal had found out that the girl was taking the gun to a blacksmith before he seized it from her. After she was questioned, Promise revealed that she was a member of a confraternity and that she got the gun from her boyfriend who is a married man with six children.
She said;
“I am a member of Sky Queen Confraternity, I am just an ordinary member. I don’t hold any position in the group, I have known the owner of the gun who is my ‘man-friend’ (boyfriend) since last year, he sleeps with me and supports me with little things, but he is not the one paying my school fees.
“My mother knows about him because he visits me at our house and sometimes he sleeps over at my place because I have my own room and in the morning he goes back to his own house.”
Meanwhile, her boyfriend named My Effiong Okon has denied handing the gun to the teenager. According to him, she took it from where he kept it with his knowledge.
He said;
“I am a married man with six children, I did not give her the gun, she took it herself where I kept it under the bed,
“I started sleeping with her last August. Her mother knows me, I have been doing small something (sic) on her head. They know she is my wife.”
