NPower Beneficiaries in Imo Seek Soft Loans
The Spokesperson for the beneficiaries of NPower scheme in Imo State, Williams Ugbo, says about 27,000 youths have benefited from N-Power and other social investment programmes of the Federal Government in the state.
The youths appealed to the government to provide them with soft loans to enable them to either start or expand their businesses.
The beneficiaries, who carried placards in support of the Federal Government’s programme and marched round Owerri, the state capital, said but for the NPower programme, crimes would have increased in the country.
Two other NPower beneficiaries, Emmanuel Ajah and Chioma Onyebiri, who said the scheme had changed their lives positively, expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for lifting them out of poverty.

NASIMS is the central management platform for the administration and coordination of National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development. The inauguration was chaired by the Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouq.
According to an elated Farouq, the inauguration was in continuation of the ongoing strategy by President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to lift 100 million people out of poverty in 10 years. She reminded the audience that Batches ‘A’ and ‘B’ had already been implemented, stating that the 500,000 beneficiaries would benefit in the first stream of the ongoing process for batch ‘C’, while the same number of Nigerians would benefit in the second stream.

One week two days after Nneka Ikem Anibeze, the Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development announced on her known Twitter handle that 8, 900 N-Power Batches A and B beneficiaries have been cleared for payment of their 5 months arrears of their stipends, independent findings revealed that the erstwhile volunteers have not gotten paid – till now.
An initiative resembling the famed N-Power scheme of the Nigerian Federal Government, Teach For Nigeria Recruitment is ongoing, GoldenNewsNg gathered.

NPower: NASIMS Web Portal To Ensure Timely Payment Of Stipends – Minister
The minister said that the NASIMS portal would give N-Power beneficiaries access to “a wide range of industry-specific content for leveraging enterprise learning, communicate their concerns & receive prompt feedback from the program implementation teams.”
She added that “the N-power programme is a critical component of the FG’s National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) & supports the FG’s vision of lifting 100 Nigerians out of poverty over 10 years. The objective remains to upskill young Nigerians for employment or entrepreneurship.”
She said that the portal would ensure transparency, compile a comprehensive record for the ministry, and ” dynamic impact assessment of the N-Power cluster, Batch C, thus providing seamless interaction between the programme and beneficiaries.”

Currently, the nexit portal is massively receiving applications, all interested volunteers have been instructed to key-in their interested by registering for the loan
Registration for the loan programme to officially ends within days, and collation of data will take some time, thereafter disbursement and further instructions will be made known to all disengaged volunteers.
