Lead representative ‘Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Sunday, portrayed the passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 others, including Oyo State-conceived Flight Lieutenant Taiwo Asaniyi, as a tremendous misfortune to Nigeria.
The lead representative, who expressed this in an assertion by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, sympathized with the groups of the perished officers, appealing to God to give them the courage to bear the misfortunes.
Makinde similarly mourned with the Armed Forces, particularly the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force, who all lost men to the air mishap in Kaduna.
The lead representative depicted the passing of Asaniyi as an individual misfortune to him and Oyo State, encouraging the family to take comfort in the Almighty, while asking God to reassure the family.
He said: “The passings of Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 others in a plane accident in Kaduna came as impolite stun.
“The passings are agonizing and an incredible misfortune to our country right now when deliberate endeavors are expected to handle uncertainty.
“It is my supplication that God will comfort the families they all abandoned.
“I especially sympathize with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Armed Forces and particularly the group of our sibling, Flight Lieutenant Asaniyi, who is an indigene of Oyo State.
“Asaniyi’s section to brilliance addresses an individual misfortune to me and to the state, since he was one of the numerous experts offering wings to Oyo State to travel to its top notch place as a Pacesetter State.
“It is my supplication that God will reassure the families Asaniyi and others abandoned and turn away pitiful events as this.
“I likewise bid goodbye to the heroic men who served their country in wars yet lost their lives outside the front lines
“Goodbye, incredible troopers!”
