“As I had repeatedly reminded you during our several meetings, our relationship has through the years developed beyond being friends to being brothers of different parents.
Whatever happened is unfortunate and I believe God has a reason for everything.

“I have put all behind me and moved on. As I have consistently advised, please be magnanimous in victory. You are the governor of all Edo people regardless of political leanings.”

In separate congratulatory messages, Oshiomhole and Ize-Iyamu have both appealed to the Edo State Governor to be magnanimous in victory.

Following the above report, See Governor Obaseki’s reaction to the congratulatory messages

According to report gathered, Edo state Governor, while addressing a large gathering on Tuesday as part of the celebration to mark his victory, Obaseki said if the opposition (APC) party leaders were serious about their congratulatory letter, they would have printed it on a letterhead paper with a signature rather than posting it on the internet.

He stated that Edo will never fall for such cheap messages called congratulatory letters, adding that they are not serious.

“na today, na today we do election, na today we win?” Obaseki asked the crowd.

“The APC in Abuja is being run just like what they did in Edo when they were in power in Edo State. There is a problem in Nigeria,” he added.

“The country has money but until we change our mind set that taxpayers money must be used to work for the people and not for very few. We have to pray that what happened in Edo will happen in Abuja.

‘’The only party that has the right people for the job is the People Democratic Party (PDP) come 2023. Forward ever, backward never.”
